For the past 16 years, I have studied under the magical tutelage of smt. Divya Shanker. Divya Shanker is the founder of Divyathrayam school of dance in Austin, TX. She has studied under many accomplished dancers and has performed around the world. Everything that is in this blog and everything that I have learned about dance is from her. My accomplishments in dance would not be possible without her unwavering dedication to her students. The guru is the person who shapes a dancer and teaches her the values of dance, such as discipline, commitment, passion, and grace. Smt. Divya Shanker has taught me that and so much more and continues shaping my growth as both an artist and a student.
